Getting Started
Overviewโ
The WhatsApp Chat module for Perfex CRM adds a convenient WhatsApp chat button to your Perfex CRM installation, allowing your clients and staff to initiate WhatsApp conversations directly from the CRM interface. You can configure separate phone numbers for the Admin area and the Customer area, making it easy to route inquiries to the appropriate team.
Requirementsโ
Before installing the module, ensure you have the following:
- A working installation of Perfex CRM
- Administrator access to the Perfex CRM backend
- A WhatsApp-enabled phone number for receiving messages
- The downloaded module archive from Themesic
Installationโ
Follow these steps to install the WhatsApp Chat module:
- Extract the downloaded archive to a location on your computer.
- Inside the extracted folder, locate the file named
upload.zip. - Log in to your Perfex CRM Admin panel.
- Navigate to SETUP โ Modules.
- Click the Upload Module button and select the
upload.zipfile. - Press Install โ the module will now appear in your modules list.
Configurationโ
Once the module is installed, follow these steps to configure it:
- In the Modules list, locate the WhatsApp Chat module and press Activate.
- Navigate to Settings within the module.
- The module comes enabled by default after activation, but no phone number is configured initially.
- Enter your WhatsApp phone number in the appropriate fields:
- Admin Area โ the phone number displayed to staff in the backend admin panel.
- Customer Area โ the phone number displayed to customers in the client portal.
- Press Save to apply your changes. The WhatsApp chat button will now appear in the configured area(s).
You can use different phone numbers for the Admin and Customer areas, allowing you to route support inquiries to separate teams or individuals.
Usage Notesโ
- Phone number required โ the module will not display a chat button in any area where a phone number has not been entered. Without a phone number configured, the module causes no conflicts and has zero impact.
- The WhatsApp chat button is not displayed on the non-logged-in customer landing page. It only appears for authenticated users within the CRM.
- Clicking the chat button opens a new WhatsApp conversation (via WhatsApp Web or the mobile app) with the configured phone number pre-filled.
- To temporarily disable the chat button for a specific area, simply clear the corresponding phone number field and save.
Make sure to enter the phone number in international format (e.g., +1234567890) for best compatibility across all devices and regions.
