Usage Guide

After activation, a new menu item appears in your Perfex CRM admin sidebar. This guide walks you through creating, managing, and using custom task filters.

Creating Filtersโ€‹

To create a new custom task filter:

  1. Navigate to the Advanced Task Filters section from the admin sidebar.
  2. Click New Task Filter to open the filter creation modal.
  3. Configure your filter criteria:
CriteriaDescription
StatusFilter tasks by their current status (e.g., not started, in progress, complete)
AssigneeFilter tasks assigned to specific team members
DatesFilter by due date, start date, or date ranges
Other CriteriaAdditional filter options as supported by the module
  1. Give your filter a descriptive name.
  2. Save the filter.
tip

Use descriptive filter names that clearly communicate what the filter shows. For example, "Overdue Tasks - Marketing Team" is much more useful than "Filter 1". Good naming helps you and your team quickly find the right filter.

Viewing and Managing Filtersโ€‹

Access all your saved filters from the main filters page:

  • View โ€” See the list of all custom filters you have created
  • Edit โ€” Modify the criteria of an existing filter to refine its results
  • Delete โ€” Remove filters that are no longer needed
info

Keeping your filter list organized and up to date ensures that you can quickly find and apply the right filter when you need it.

Filter Results Table Viewโ€‹

Each filter provides a feature-rich table view for working with the filtered tasks:

FeatureDescription
SearchSearch within the filtered results to narrow down specific tasks
Limit ControlsAdjust pagination settings to control how many tasks are displayed per page
ExportDownload the filtered task data for reporting or sharing with others
tip

The export feature is particularly useful for generating task reports. Apply a filter to isolate the tasks you want to report on, then export the results for use in presentations, spreadsheets, or project reviews.

Preview Filtersโ€‹

Before applying a filter or committing to its configuration, you can preview its results:

  1. Navigate to the filters list page.
  2. Click the eye icon on any filter to preview its results.
  3. Review the matching tasks to verify the filter criteria are correct.
  4. Adjust the filter criteria if the results do not match your expectations.
info

The preview feature is helpful when creating new filters or modifying existing ones. It lets you verify that the filter produces the expected results without disrupting your current view.

Best Practicesโ€‹

  • Start broad, then refine โ€” Begin with fewer criteria and add more as needed to narrow down results
  • Create filters for recurring needs โ€” If you frequently search for the same type of tasks, save a filter for it
  • Use meaningful names โ€” Clear filter names save time when switching between different views
  • Review filters periodically โ€” As your projects and team structure evolve, update your filters to stay relevant
  • Combine criteria effectively โ€” Use multiple criteria together to create highly targeted task views
