Usage Guide

After activation, a new menu item appears in your Perfex CRM admin area. This guide walks you through creating bookmarks, assigning them to tasks, and using the dashboard integration.

Creating Bookmarksโ€‹

To create a new bookmark:

  1. Open the bookmark creation page from the new menu item in the admin sidebar.
  2. Fill in the bookmark details:

  1. Save the bookmark.

Use a consistent naming convention for your bookmarks. For example, you might use priority-based names ("Urgent", "Normal", "Low") or workflow-based names ("In Review", "Waiting on Client", "Approved"). Choose whatever system works best for your team.

Using Bookmarks with Tasksโ€‹

Once bookmarks are created, they integrate directly into your task management workflow:

  • Bookmarks appear as a new column next to tasks in the task list view.
  • Click on the bookmark column for any task to assign a bookmark to it.
  • Assigned bookmarks display with their configured icon and color, making it easy to spot categorized tasks.
  • You can change or remove a bookmark assignment at any time.

Assigning a bookmark to a task is purely for organizational purposes. It does not change the task's status, priority, or any other task properties.

Sorting Tasks by Bookmarkโ€‹

Take advantage of bookmark-based sorting to group related tasks together:

  • Use the bookmark column header to sort tasks by their assigned bookmark.
  • This groups all tasks with the same bookmark together, making it easy to focus on specific categories.
  • Combine bookmark sorting with other filters for even more precise task views.

Dashboard Integrationโ€‹

Task Bookmarks includes a dashboard widget for quick access to your bookmarked tasks:

  • Pin bookmarks directly to your Dashboard from the bookmark management page.
  • View bookmarked task summaries at a glance without navigating to the task list.
  • The dashboard widget shows a count of tasks assigned to each pinned bookmark.
  • Click on any bookmark in the dashboard widget to jump directly to those tasks.

Pin only the bookmarks you use most frequently to your dashboard. This keeps your dashboard clean and focused on the information that matters most to your daily workflow.

Best Practicesโ€‹

  • Limit the number of bookmarks โ€” Too many categories can be counterproductive; aim for 5-10 well-defined bookmarks
  • Use distinct colors โ€” Choose colors that are easy to tell apart at a glance
  • Communicate with your team โ€” Ensure everyone understands what each bookmark means and when to use it
  • Review periodically โ€” Remove or rename bookmarks that are no longer relevant to your workflow
