Uninstall

Deactivating ReturnDesk changes nothing in your data. Returns, credit and settings stay in the database, and the My Account Returns tab disappears until you activate the plugin again.

Deleting the plugin from Plugins > Installed Plugins runs its uninstaller. What it does depends on one setting.

ReturnDesk and ReturnDesk Lite share their data. While the other edition is still installed (its folder returndesk or returndesk-lite is in the plugins folder), deleting one edition removes nothing at all, whatever the setting says: the edition that stays keeps working on the same returns, settings and jobs. Only the last edition you delete runs the steps below.

Keep your data (default)โ€‹

With Delete all data when the plugin is uninstalled switched off, which is the default, deleting the plugin:

  • Cancels the scheduled jobs of ReturnDesk (the Action Scheduler group tsre).
  • Removes the manage_tsre_returns capability from the roles.

Everything else stays: the returns, items, timeline, store credit ledger and label records, the photos and label PDFs, the settings and the per-product and per-category rules. If you install the plugin again, it picks up where it stopped, and the capability is granted again on activation.

Delete all dataโ€‹

To remove everything, open WooCommerce > Settings > Returns > Advanced, tick Delete all data when the plugin is uninstalled, save, and only then delete the plugin.

vorsicht

This cannot be undone. Export what you need first, for example with the REST API or a database backup.

Besides the steps above, the uninstaller then removes:

  • The five database tables: tsre_returns, tsre_return_items, tsre_return_events, tsre_credits and tsre_labels.
  • The settings option tsre_settings, and every other option and transient that starts with tsre_, including the counters and flags of the plugin.
  • The settings that WooCommerce keeps for the ReturnDesk emails (the options that start with woocommerce_tsre_).
  • All return photos in the media library, with their files, and the folder wp-content/uploads/tsre/, which also holds the label PDFs.
  • The per-product and per-category return rules (the meta key _tsre_rules) and every other post, term, user and order meta key that starts with tsre_ or _tsre_. This includes the references on exchange orders and refunds, and the store credit marks on orders. The orders and refunds themselves are not deleted.

WooCommerce orders, refunds and the exchange orders that were created stay, because they are your accounting records. Only the ReturnDesk references on them are removed.

Multisiteโ€‹

On a network, each site is handled on its own: the capability, the jobs and the data of every site are cleaned according to that site's own setting. Because user meta is shared by all sites, it is only swept when no site that has ReturnDesk data is keeping it.
