Configuration
After installing and activating the Facebook Pixel module, you need to configure it with your Meta Pixel code to start tracking.
Overviewโ
The configuration page allows you to enable or disable tracking, paste your Pixel code, and choose whether to apply it to the admin area, the customer area, or both. The module supports using different Pixel codes for each area, giving you flexibility in how you track activity.
Step-by-Step Configurationโ
Follow these steps to configure the Facebook Pixel module:
- In the Perfex CRM admin panel, navigate to the module Settings.
- Enable the module using the state toggle to turn tracking on.
- Paste your Facebook Pixel code in the appropriate textarea:
- Admin Area Pixel โ paste the code to track activity in the admin panel
- Customer Area Pixel โ paste the code to track activity in the customer portal
- Click Save to apply your settings.
You can use different Pixel codes for the Admin area and the Customer area. This is useful if you manage separate ad accounts or want to segment tracking data between internal staff usage and customer interactions.
Getting Your Pixel Code from Metaโ
If you need to retrieve your Pixel code:
- Go to Meta Events Manager.
- Select your Pixel from the data sources list.
- Click Settings and scroll to the Pixel Code section.
- Click Copy Code to copy the full JavaScript snippet.
- Paste this code into the module settings in Perfex CRM.
The Pixel code snippet typically starts with <!-- Meta Pixel Code --> and includes a <script> block with your unique Pixel ID. Make sure you copy the entire snippet.
Configuration Optionsโ
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Module State | Enable or disable the entire module (toggle on/off) |
| Admin Pixel Code | The Meta Pixel JavaScript snippet for the admin area |
| Customer Pixel Code | The Meta Pixel JavaScript snippet for the customer portal |
Important Notesโ
- No code, no impact โ Without any Pixel code entered, the module does nothing and causes no conflicts with your installation. It is completely safe to leave the module active without a Pixel code configured.
- Separate codes โ Admin and Customer area Pixel codes are independent. You can configure one, both, or neither.
- Immediate effect โ Once you save a valid Pixel code and the module is enabled, tracking begins immediately on the next page load.
After saving your configuration, verify that the Pixel is firing correctly by using the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension. This will confirm that events are being sent to Meta.
