What Enrichment Doesโ€‹

When a new lead comes in, you often have only a name and an email address. Lead enrichment automatically fills in the blanks โ€” things like what company they work for, their job title, what industry they are in, and their LinkedIn profile.

Think of it like having a research assistant who looks up every new lead for you, instantly.

Enrichment works by analyzing the lead's email domain. If a lead's email is [email protected], LeadHub uses the domain techcorp.com to infer information about the company.


What Gets Enrichedโ€‹

Enrichment only fills in fields that are currently empty on the lead. It does not overwrite information you have already entered.


Manual Enrichmentโ€‹

To enrich a single lead manually:

  1. Open the lead detail page (click any lead in your leads list).
  2. Look for the "Enrich with AI" button โ€” it appears near the lead profile section.
  3. Click it.
  4. LeadHub sends the lead's information to OpenAI and fills in the missing fields within a few seconds.

You will see a confirmation message when enrichment completes, and the lead's profile updates immediately on the page.


Automatic Enrichment (via Automation)โ€‹

You can enrich leads automatically as they arrive, without clicking anything manually.

  1. Go to Automations and create a new automation (or edit an existing one).
  2. Set the trigger to "New Lead Received" (or whichever trigger suits your workflow).
  3. Add an action and choose "Enrich Lead".
  4. Save the automation.

Now every new lead that triggers this automation will be enriched automatically in the background. The lead appears in your list immediately, and the enriched data fills in within a few seconds.


Limitationsโ€‹

Accuracy Depends on Available Dataโ€‹

Enrichment works best when the lead uses a professional business email address (like [email protected]). It does not work well with:

  • Personal email addresses like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or Hotmail โ€” there is no company information to infer from [email protected]
  • Very small companies or startups that have no online presence
  • Custom or unusual domain names that are hard to identify

When enrichment cannot determine something with confidence, it leaves that field blank rather than guessing. LeadHub instructs the AI never to fabricate data.

Not a Database Lookupโ€‹

Enrichment uses AI reasoning, not a live database of company records. It can make reasonable inferences, but it is not as precise as dedicated data enrichment services like Clearbit or ZoomInfo. Use the results as a helpful starting point, not a guaranteed source of truth.

OpenAI API Key Requiredโ€‹

If no OpenAI API key is configured, the "Enrich with AI" button is hidden and the automation action is unavailable. See the AI Overview page for instructions on setting up your API key.
